Our Tabata Class is the shortest group fitness class, averaging just over 35-mins in  length. Tabata is based on a 4-minute timing scheme where you work hard for 20- seconds and rest for 10-seconds. Tabata classes use lightweights, body weight  movements, kettlebells and other fitness tools. 

Brief history of Tabata.

Tabata training was invented by a Japanese researcher, Dr. Izumi Tabata. Dr. Tabata,  took Olympic speed skaters and separated them into two groups and put them  through a 6-week training program. The control group did 1-hr of moderate  intensity and the test group used the Tabata timing scheme. 

The results?

The Tabata group showed a greater increase in their aerobic system compared to  the control group, and also increased their anaerobic system by 28 percent… 

So in other words TABATA WORKS!!!
